In Miami Shores, Brazilian architect Mariana Maisonnave renovated a two-storey house on a canal for a couple who love boating, opening up the ground floor towards the water. Downstairs she used travertine, porcelain tile and quartzite, and upstairs she kept the original wooden floor and gave it a tinted finish. Even the owners' two dachshunds were considered when choosing the bed.
