It’s October and by six o’clock it’s already dark, and the home begins to change. Light no longer falls from above: it settles on the table, rests against the wall, lingers at eye level beside the armchair where someone has just opened a book. Each lamp defines a space, and together, these pools of light shape the room. When switched off, the lamp does not disappear: it retains its volume, proportion, and presence, like a sculpture.
Material, then, becomes essential, because the object is seen even when it is not illuminated. Giobagnara brings its own material vocabulary to lighting: finely worked leather, handwoven rattan, bronze, and travertine. The result is a selection of table, floor, wall, and pendant lamps, including designs developed in collaboration with Francesco Balzano, Stéphane Parmentier, and Belgian lighting specialist Tekna.

Tactile geometry in stitched leather
Leather remains the core signature material of the Italian maison, wrapped deliberately around source lighting across a wide variety of silhouettes. The Ossicle table and wall lamps, designed by Francesco Balzano, belong to a broader collection of monolithic forms that combine a primordial character with contemporary minimalism. Their lines reference the ancient Greek and Roman game Jeu des Osselets, reinterpreted through a modern lens with a subtle irony that balances organic shapes with pure geometry.
The Ossicle table lamp comes in a small version measuring 9.4 by 7.1 inches with a height of 17.7 inches, as well as a large version measuring 11 by 9.4 inches with a height of 23.6 inches. Both sizes feature a removable Corian® shade. The wall-mounted Ossicle lamp comes in a double version measuring 9.6 by 5.1 inches with a height of 15.6 inches or a triple configuration. Buyers can select from five specific leather finishes: golf, wild boar, deer, nappa, and suede.

The Enea table lamp takes its shape from the architectural elements of classical antiquity, drawing direct inspiration from classical Greek columns. Its curves and crisp angles create a constant interplay of light and shadow whenever the fixture is turned on. Built with a leather-covered wood base and a clean linen shade, Enea is offered in monochromatic or two-tone options. The small size measures 10.6 inches in diameter and 17.1 inches in height, while the large version measures 14.2 inches in diameter and 21.5 inches in height.

Collaborations with Belgian pioneer Tekna combine Giobagnara’s leather craftsmanship with Belgian technical lighting expertise. Marquesse is a specialised leather-clad floor lamp tailored for reading. Its light tube rotates 350 degrees and tilts 90 degrees, resting on a weighted base for stability and featuring an easy foot-operated dimmer switch. The floor lamp stands 52.6 inches high with a base measuring 13.2 by 4.5 inches, available in a 220V model and a 110V model. Walcott, another Tekna collaboration, is a leather-clad brass wall light marked by clean lines and rounded forms, available in standard or double-bulb options.

Handwoven rattan and cast metals
Lightness and structural weight meet through the combination of hand-braided organic fibres and dark cast metals. The Orion chandelier, designed by Stéphane Parmentier, features a clean, conical silhouette. Measuring an impressive 47.2 inches in diameter and 17.3 inches in height, the wide scale of the chandelier achieves a weightless quality through the use of open, handwoven rattan. It hangs from thick, heavy chains crafted in brushed and burnished bronze, creating a contrast of materials, weights, tones, and surface textures.

Thanks to Giobagnara’s dedicated rattan workshop in Genoa, Orion can also be custom-made to specific dimensions, demonstrated by a massive custom oval chandelier that spans 110.2 by 47.2 inches. The Orion family also includes a wall light with a sinuous silhouette in woven rattan, detailed with a smooth nappa leather trim along its edges.
Duomo pairs distinct references to 1970s lighting with clear lines and geometric volumes. Its curved shade and base are cast in heavy bronze, while the main body is wrapped in light woven rattan to give the piece a relaxed, informal quality. It emits a soft, ambient light that works well for late reading. Equipped with a dimmable LED, a touch control switch, and a rechargeable battery, Duomo offers between 8 and 16 hours of continuous cord-free light depending on the chosen brightness level. The lamp measures 7.9 inches in diameter and stands 15.7 inches tall.

Architectural travertine and opaline glass
Architectural details from Italian historical landmarks find fresh expression in scale objects for the home interior. Palazzo, designed by Stéphane Parmentier, stands as a graphic tribute to the grand facades and stylised ornamentation of traditional Italian palazzos. The design pairs travertine, an emblematic stone of Italian architecture, with soft suede to set up a contrast between texture, colour, and raw material. Palazzo table lamps come in three sizes: a small version measuring 10.6 inches in diameter and 16.3 inches in height, a medium version measuring 14.2 inches in diameter and 23.2 inches in height, and a large version measuring 17.3 inches in diameter and 28.3 inches in height.
Scala draws direct design inspiration from the layered, stacked step forms often found at the base of historical Italian buildings. The table lamp features a heavy base cast in bronze topped with a matching shade made of opaline glass, repeating the same stacked architectural motif across both components. The quiet elegance of the lamp relies on the exact precision of its physical proportions, an approach that earned Scala the Wallpaper* Design Award in 2018. The Small High version of Scala measures 5.7 inches in diameter and 13.6 inches in height.

The Genoa Atelier Heritage
Founded in Genoa toward the end of the 1990s by Giorgio and Vanessa Bagnara, Giobagnara introduced leather into the realm of home decoration. It was a pioneering move during an era when leather was almost entirely reserved for fashion items and riding tack. Over more than two decades, the Bagnaras built an approach entirely their own, bringing artisanal hand skills to everyday objects and combining fine hides with noble materials across a wide palette of colours and surface finishes.
Every item is conceived, developed, and manufactured inside Italy. Today, Giobagnara serves a wide international audience of private collectors, architects, interior designers, yachting specifiers, aviation outfitters, and global retail partners. The maison continues to expand its physical footprint with monobrand locations and dedicated shop-in-shops in major international cities, anchored by its central flagship location inside Piazza San Marco in Venice.
